Ingredients :
- soak the dal for 1 hour
- 1 medium size of onion ( finely chopped)
- 1 medium size of tomato (sliced)
- 1 medium size of carrot (cubed)
- 2 medium size of brinjal (sliced)
- Tamarind (adjust the qty as per your taste)
- curry leaves
- 2 red chilly
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- salt to taste
Spices :
- 1 tbsp of Sambar powder
- 1/s tsp of Asafoetida
- 1 tsp of cumin powder
- 1 tsp of coriander powder
- 1 tsp of chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
How to :
- Pressure cook the dal with veggies water, tarmarind & turmeric powder on high flame for 4 whistles
- Keep it closed for 30 minutes or till the steam goes
- heat oil in another pan
- add onion, red chilly, curry leaves, cook for 30 seconds
- add all spices, cook for 2 minutes
- add cooked dal and veggies
- bring it to boil for about 5 minutes
- garnish with coriander leaves (optional)
- Serve the Sambar
